PANJIM: Even as the State government has extended the ongoing curfew amidst same restrictions, certain relaxations are given over the sale of liquor in the jurisdiction of municipal councils and coastal villages.
As per the notification by Under Secretary Finance (R&C) Pranab Bhat, the sale will be following permission from Excise Commissioner. “The Commissioner of Excise can grant permission for additional time beyond 11pm for sale of liquor in coastal village panchayats coming under Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) areas, areas under jurisdiction of municipal councils, casinos and the hotels registered with the Department of Tourism, Government of Goa,” it stated.
“Further, in order to regulate sale of liquor in rural and hinterland areas, such applications shall be referred to government by Excise Department, for decision.”
