VALPOI: Chairman of Chidambaram Sahakari Milk Society Maloli-Bambar, Sattari, on Monday urged the government to simplify the Kamdhenu Scheme and release the subsidy on time.
Society’s Krishnnath Kale said they have been running in profit for the last 50 years but are facing problems to procure the government Kamdhenu Scheme, especially while filling the forms.
“The bank authorities are harassing the farmers and also they are not getting the scheme subsidy on time,” said Kale.
Vice Chairman Balkrishna Jadhav said, “All the ‘fat’ machines and milk coolers from all milk societies of Goa are showing different fat rates, when actually all should show one and the same. The milk farmers are facing the losses due to this disparity.”
Chidambaram Sahakari Milk Society held its 51st annual general meeting on Monday. The society which was established in 1969 has 65 members.
The society also distributed new milk cans to those milk farmers who are regularly supplying the milk.
