MARGAO: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has demanded that the government should provide relief to the common man from the “exorbitant” electricity bills issued during the past two months and reduce VAT on fuel.
Aam Aadmi Party youth leader Lourenco Silva said high prices of diesel and petrol were putting additional burden on the common man, who is reeling under the weight of “inflated” electricity bills.
He said that unemployment was at an all time high and the spending power of the people was so weak that instead of helping tide over difficulties, the people were further burdened by an “insensitive” government.
Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party welcomed the move by the Kejriwal government to reduce vat on diesel to 16.75% as high diesel prices were having an inflationary effect on the economy.
