MARGAO: The renovated shade of platform number 2 at the Margao railway station was inaugurated by South Goa MP Narendra Sawaikar, on Saturday. The works was sanctioned in January, taken up in April and was completed this month. The project has been funded under Sawaikar’s MPLAD funds.
Konkan Railways CMD Sanjay Gupta, District Collector Swapnil Naik and others were present at the ocassion. Gupta thanked Sawaikar for funding various projects at the KRC station in Margao.
On the occasion, Sawaikar informed that the work on four of seven ROBs has commenced. “Work on Four ROBs has started. We are talking to the state government to begin the work of Chandor ROB soon and in one year it will be completed,” Sawaikar said.
Gupta informed that additional platform would be coming up at Margao Railway Station along with renovation of waiting room, food court and surfacing of the platforms. He said that taxi stand, parking lot and other works beyond the station would start next year.
