SANGUEM: The Parishioners of Our Lady of Miracles Church, Sanguem, PTA members of Miracles pre-Primary School and some former councillors of Sanguem Municipal Council have objected to the renovation plan of the children’s park in front of Our Lady of Miracles Church, Sanguem.
It is pertinent to note here that the issue of renovation of the children’s park was raised at the recent meeting of the Sanguem Municipality, wherein a proposal was put. The move was however, objected by seven out of the nine councillors. The councillors opposing the move highlighted the security concern of the pre-primary students studying in the church premises and also opposed the move on the ground that construction of the park would result in the disturbance of religious activities at the Church, which was located few metres away. The councillors had also opposed the renovation of the park as it exists by the side of the main road which is frequented by the migrant labourers and feared of possible attacks on the minor children as the park lacked security. In fresh representations made to the DMA and other authorities, PTA members and the parishioners objected to going ahead with the plans to renovate the park.
