MARGAO: Curtorim Congress MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco, in a letter, has requested Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to reopen the Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadi Kendra in Aquem, for the benefit of senior citizens.
“I was keen to raise issue of reopening of the medical store at Aquem in Margao under Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadi Kendra, (during the Budget session) but I am sad to state that it was not admitted in the remaining two Business Days (6th -7th February 2020) of the House and it remains unresolved,” Reginaldo wrote in his letter.
“The store was opened on May 2018 at Aquem but later stopped functioning which has caused concern to senior citizens due to loss of monetary benefit as they could procure more than 600 types of quality medicines at affordable prices for treating ailments like Diabetes, Blood Pressure, Cancer, Gastro etc,” Reginaldo writes as.
