VASCO: Renovation and repair work of the dilapidated railway overbridge at Driver Hill Vasco is ongoing in full swing. Railway engineer Gudipati informed that the repair work of the bridge will be completed by end of May and the work of the retaining wall below the bridge will be completed by June 15.
“An overbridge of Railway at Driver Hill Vasco is getting the Midas touch. The work of old concrete dismantling and replacing the rusty braces and channels which are essential for the stability of the bridge is being carried out,” said Elisha Gudipati Junior Engineer Railways.
He further said that after removing the old concrete, new 6 mm thick sheet will be placed over that 5-inch concrete. Once the overbridge work is completed then immediately the retaining wall will be constructed below the overbridge to avoid landslides during the monsoon season.
The overbridge will remain closed for people for around 15 days until the work is completed Gudipati said, adding there is nothing to be worried about.
“There is no issue of landslide as the retaining wall will come up here. The overbridge structure is strong,” he added.
