Repair Ribandar road in 2 days, locals tell PWD

PANJIM: The road leading to the Hindu Crematorium in Ribandar has turned into a virtual death trap for motorists. Locals have threatened a rasta roko if the authorities do not repair it within two days.

A large portion of the road has caved in, exposing underground cables. The rest of the stretch has developed potholes, which cannot be seen at night as the area lacks streetlights. The road is used by many people, especially parents who drop their children to school.
Despite repeated requests to the Public Works Department (PWD) and engineers to repair the road, the locals’ pleas have fallen on deaf ears. They threatened to block trucks from plying on the road if it was not repaired in two days.
