MAPUSA: The National Highway officials removed the replanted coconut trees along the Guirim flyover which were posing danger following directions from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

Seeking PMO’s intervention, Sanjay Raut, a citizen, in a letter had stated that concerned authorities and Goa CM failed to take action on the dangerous coconut trees. Raut said he had sent an email to the North Goa Collector on June 15, 2021 requesting to cut these replanted 36 coconut trees.
“As there was no response, I wrote to the Chief Minister’s Office on June 19 and then to the Governor’s office on July 9, 2021. The way Goa administration works, never expected any response and till date have not received from any response from the Collector, CMO or Governor’s office,” Raut added.
