PANJIM: Town and Country Planning Minister Vijai Sardesai on Monday visited Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar at AIIMS, Delhi and requested him to ban fish imports till public confidence returns. “First thing is CM is recovering well and we had a good chat,” he stated.
The Town and Country Planning Minister said that he demanded that the State administration should restore confidence of people in the quality of the fish. “Till then import of fish should be banned so that people know that whatever fish they eat is locally caught,” Sardesai said.
Sardesai also said that Parrikar told him that he would meet the cabinet ministers after October 10 and allot additional portfolios to his colleagues. “Let his proposal come, GFP will carefully examine and then decide.”
The Town and Country Planning Minister said he also discussed the State of administration especially people’s lack of confidence on fish.
