PANJIM: The Requiem Mass for the soul of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI will be celebrated in Cathedral Church, Old Goa, on January 9, at 4.30 pm and not January 5 as announced earlier.
In a press release, Fr Barry Cardozo, DCSCM Director, Goa, has requested the faithful to take note of the change and inform others.
Fr Cardozo said the lay faithful, the religious, the clergy and the members of other faiths who would like to participate are invited for the solemn prayer for the deceased Pontiff. The holiday declared for the Patriarchal Curia and the Diocesan Centres/bodies in honour of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI will be observed on the funeral day (January 5).
