MAPUSA: The rescue team on Saturday retrieved the body of father from Calvim River while, search was still on to trace his minor son.
The deceased identified as Vijay Gaonkar (47) from Aldona had jumped from the Calvim Bridge along with his seven-year-old son on Friday afternoon.
The rescue team comprising Mapusa Police, fire personnel and the Captain of Ports on Saturday morning found Gaonkar’s body lying below the bridge.
The police conducted the panchanama and sent the body to Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Bambolim for post-mortem examination.
