The department has been charged of bypassing the seniority list while issuing the order and the CEE has been asked to explain the criteria adopted.
“We have been bypassed totally by the department while issuing orders appointing some of the assistant executive engineers as officiating executive engineers. The department ought to have followed the seniority list before issuing the order”, remarked an engineer.
A delegation of the aggrieved assistant executive engineers called on the Chief Electrical Engineer S Lekshmanan and conveyed their total displeasure over the decision.
S Lekshmanan had on July 24 issued an order directed a group of assistant executive engineers to hold charge of the post of executive engineers on officiating basis as stop-gap arrangement till the vacancies of executive engineers are filled on regular basis by direct recruitments or by promotions, whichever earlier. They were asked to take charge over the officiating order of the post of executive engineers with immediate effect.
