PANJIM: A residential complex in Salvador do Mundo has been declared as micro containment zone (MCZ) in the wake of increasing COVID-19 cases from the area.
North Goa Collector Ajit Roy ordered the same based on cases reported by Primary Health Center, Porvorim.
“It has been made to appear to the undersigned by the Health Officer, PHC, Porvorim, that there is a need for declaration of Madhuban Complex, Salai, Porvorim at Salvador Do Mundo, Bardez Goa as Micro Containment Zone in North Goa District being vulnerable to the spread of the disease,” reads the order by Roy.
Block B of the Madhuban Complex has been declared as MCZ.
To combat the situation at hand, an action plan has been prescribed to carry out such as screening, testing of suspected cases, quarantine, isolation, social distancing and other Public health measures in the MCZ.
This is the second MCZ in Goa with the first being at Ponda after 28 students tested positive for the deadly virus.
