Residents of Ghanemarad in Curchorem are facing growing inconvenience due to continuous water flow from a newly constructed sewerage tank in the area. Two newly built sewerage chambers have reportedly been overflowing, leading to unhygienic conditions and concern among locals.
One of the overflowing chambers is located directly in front of a residence, severely affecting the daily life of the family living there as well as nearby households. While the exact nature of the water flowing from the chambers has not yet been confirmed, residents fear that once actual sewage begins to pass through the system, it could pose serious health and environmental risks.
Villagers have raised complaints with the concerned authorities on multiple occasions, but allege that no corrective action has been taken so far. It also remains unclear whether the overflow is due to sewage discharge, a pipeline leak, or another source.
Local residents are now urging the authorities to carry out an immediate inspection of the site and take necessary remedial measures to prevent further inconvenience and avert potential public health hazards.
