“It is shocking to know that the civic body was dragging its feet in expediting the process of filing police complaints pertaining to theft of the diesel of municipal trucks parked at the ring road. By now, an official complaint should have been lodged. This clearly shows that nobody cares,” Coutinho alleged.

He wondered as to how tanks which were filled to

the brim in the late evening were completely empty the next morning.

“On Thursday morning, we noticed leakages in the tanks and several litres of diesel getting wasted. After inquiry it has been revealed that this was going on for the last several months and there was no move to repair the tanks of the trucks, despite having a full-fledged mechanic and engineer on the job,” said Coutinho.
