Residents launch morcha on paper mill industry at Honda

Demand 70% jobs for local youth; To write to CM with regards to air pollution caused by the industry

VALPOI: The residents on Sunday launched a morcha on the new paper mill industry at Honda IDC demanding 70 per cent jobs for the local youth. 

The locals claimed that the industry has refused to provide employment to the local youth. 

The youth have now decided to write to Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant with regards to the air pollution caused by the industry.

The locals said they have submitted around 2000 job applications to the company, which started six months ago. The applications were submitted to the Company’s Human Resource Manager but, till date the firm has not contacted them for job interviews.

The locals alleged that the industry, which is located near the main road, is creating air and noise pollution. 

“We have launched a morcha on the paper mill industry demanding 70 per cent jobs for the local youth. The industry has failed to provide jobs to the locals, said Vishwajit K Rane, a local.

The company’s HR Manager said he would try he will try his level best to come out with a solution.
