PONDA: People living in the Curti-Mardol Priol stretch have demanded immediate restoration of roads dug up recently to lay underground electric cable as it is causing lot of hardships to them as well as the commuters using this route.
Local resident Dinesh Zalmi and others urged Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and PWD Minister Nilesh Cambral to urgently look into the matter and road should be restored immediately.
Locals said the road stretch is already narrow, has become even narrower due to digging. This is making it extremely difficult for the residents of Curti, Priol, Querim, Vere, Waghurme, Volvoi areas to commute smoothly, especially for the motorists.
Not only road condition is poor, but also it is leading to traffic congestion is becoming a safety risk for commuters. It is likely that the situation will become more serious after the onset of monsoon, which will compound the inconvenience being faced by the people passing through this area.
