BAGA: Xavier Retreat House, Baga has complained to the Calangute Police about the constant noise pollution on the beach.
In his complaint, Fr Cedric Fernandes of Xavier Retreat House informed that since the time the shacks have opened, they are facing problem of blaring music on Baga beach by a few restaurants which continues till 3 am.
Fr Cedric stated that after 10 pm, no loud music can be played. However, a few restaurants in Baga have violated the order and play loud music beyond 3 am and sometimes till 5.30 am.
The complainant stated that PCR was also informed about the same and the police had even stopped the music. However, despite this, noise pollution continues and strict action against the violators is necessary.
Meanwhile, one Jack Fernandes, a resident of Saunta Wado, Calangute filed a complaint at the Anjuna Police Station stating that he was assaulted when he went to question the violators for playing loud music.
Jack claimed that when he went to stop loud music, which was being played till around 1.45 am, he was assaulted by resort owner and staff, who tried to forcibly remove the keys of his scooter.
