Revanth Reddy Sworn in as Telangana’s Chief Minister, Forms Cabinet Amidst Massive Gathering

In a momentous ceremony held at Hyderabad’s Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium, Anumula Revanth Reddy, the influential figure behind the Telangana Congress’s resounding victory in the November 30 Assembly polls, was sworn in as the state’s second Chief Minister. The event witnessed a staggering attendance of nearly 1 lakh supporters.

Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan administered the oath of office to Reddy, who assumed the highest executive post in the state. Accompanying him were 11 members of his cabinet, including Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikaramarka and former Telangana Congress chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy. Notably, this cabinet formation included individuals, such as Kumar Reddy, who initially opposed Revanth Reddy’s ascension to the Chief Ministerial role.

The newly formed cabinet consists of Sridhar Babu, Ponnam Prabhakar, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Damodar Rajanarasimha, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Dana Anasuya, Tummala Nageswar Rao, Konda Surekha, and Jupally Krishna Rao.

Political figures including members of the Gandhi family—Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra—Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar were present.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Reddy, pledging unwavering support for Telangana’s progress under his leadership. The Congress’s triumph marked a significant power shift, overthrowing the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi led by K Chandrashekar Rao, which had governed Telangana since its inception in 2014. The Congress secured a remarkable victory, securing 65 out of 119 Assembly seats in the recent polls.
