The government has set April 5 as the date to submit the same to the Union Ministry for Urban Development Ministry under ‘fast-track competition’.
“The HPSC is likely to grant is approval on Monday or Tuesday morning. We are planning to submit the plan by April 5,” said CCP Commissioner Sanjit Rodrigues.
The deadline to submit the proposal under fast-track competition is April 15. With 23 cities shortlisted, Goa ranks fifth.
The CCP council, on March 30, approved the Rs 1,099.94 crore SCP, with a Rs 547 crore share by the State and Centre, respectively, over the next five years. Another Rs 396 crore is expected to be funded under PPP and Rs 88 crore under the AMRUT scheme of the Central Government.
While the CCP’s share of Rs 273.5 crore (50 percent of State share of Rs 547 crore) to be funded by the State, the Corporation has decided to bear the maintenance cost of the assets, which is estimated at Rs 67.08 crore.“The State government has already made budgetary provision of Rs 80 crore in the 2016-17 budget,” Rodrigues said.
