MAPUSA: Revora villagers have demanded dismantling of a mobile tower installed by Reliance in a residential area at Zillbhat ward of the village.
However, they clarified that they would not oppose the installation of tower in a non-residential area. They said that the tower was installed within a night and only connectivity of the tower is yet to be done.
The villagers alleged that the tower has been installed illegally without permission of the authorities concerned.
It is learnt that the tower has been installed despite opposition from villagers during a recent gram sabha.
According to the villagers, they wrote to the health department, pollution board, local panchayat and even to the chief minister not to allow the installation of the mobile tower in a residential area in the village.
