PONDA: Revolutionary Goans (RG) Chief Manoj Parab along with the members and supporters on Sunday held a door to door campaign at Usgao and stressed on importance of Person of Goan Origin Bill (POGO) to be passed by the State Assembly.

Pamphlets were distributed at every house stressing on the need for one more revolution to protect the interest of Goans.

During the campaign, Parab said, “The RG will free the people and end the dictatorship and family raj of Valpoi-Sattari Rane family.”

He said, “There is no political party to support and protect the interest of Goans. The local politicians including Vishwajeet Rane are just using and looking at the Goan women and citizens as vote bank and not bothered about their needs. The politicians failed to provide jobs to Usgao villagers despite there are several industries in the village.”

“Children of the locals, who were residing in the State before the Goa Liberation should be considered as original Goans. Since past 15 days we are creating door to door awareness and getting tremendous response from the locals,” he claimed.

Parab alleged, “Today the Goans are suffering. Interests of the locals are sidelined. While the migrants are becoming Goans just after 10 years of stay in the State and are also grabbing the government jobs by adopting surnames of the Goans.”

“The locals are deprived of government as well as private jobs in State’s industrial estates. The politicians are also not making any attempts to provide locals the jobs. The companies in the State take advantage of the government facilities such as subsidy, power and water at cost of the Goans but provide jobs to the migrants. The Goans even struggle to get beds in the government hospitals,” he claimed.

“The RG will conduct a survey on the locals and will ask these private industries to provide first preference where jobs are concerned. The migrants have encroached on the comunidade lands and the local politicians are supporting them for the sake of vote bank adding to the misery of the Goans,” he said.
