A sea of people from all walks of life flocked to the house of Dr Raiturkar at Aquem to pay tributes to the departed soul.
The doctor was revered physician within his fraternity and was claimed to be the best anaesthetist in Goa. He is survived by his daughter who is also a doctor and a son.
Meanwhile, the police have revealed that the post mortem report of Dr Shailesh has been reserved. The post mortem was held on Saturday morning at Margao and the body was later handed over to the family for final rites.
Living up to his name Dr Shailesh was very dear and also famous in Margao and had won the hearts of people right from the poor to the rich and from politicians to bureaucrats. All the well wishers expressed grief of losing a gem of a person and an able physician. The clinic of Dr Shailesh, which has over 100 people at any given time, looked deserted for the first time in years.
Shailesh Raiturkar died at his residence on Friday after earlier having complained of chest pain at 12.30 in the afternoon. He was aged 58 and was arguably a successful doctor of Margao and Goa.
Herald too extends heartfelt sympathies to Dr. Shailesh Raiturkars family and pray that he rests in Peace.
