Rider dies in mishap

A 36-year-old scooterist from Kumeri-Sanguem died after his scooter rammed against the bus near Government Polytechnic at Cacora on Thursday morning. Curchorem police detained truck driver Anthony Rodrigues from Uguem-Sanguem.
According to Curchorem police, the incident occurred when Rama Kidu Gaonkar was proceeding on his scooter  towards Curchorem.
Gaonkar tried to overtake a bus near the Government Polytechnic, when a truck came from the opposite direction. In a bid to avoid collision with the truck, Gaonkar rammed against the bus and was crushed to death under the truck.
Curchorem PSI Arjun Sangodkar along with his team rushed to the site and after investigating sent the body for autopsy to the Hospicio. Police arrested the truck driver and PSI Sangodkar is investigating.
