BICHOLIM: A senior citizen Udhesh Ganesh Shirgaonkar (64) from Shirgao Bicholim died and his pillion was injured in an accident at Valshim in Bicholim on Thursday at about 4.20 pm.
According to Bicholim police, Shirgaonkar and one Anil Gaonkar (62) from Shirgao were proceeding from Bicholim to Shirgao. On reaching Valshim, Shirgaonkar attempted to overtake a bus, however, when they saw vehicle coming from opposite direction they got confused and fell on the road.
Surprisingly, Shirgaonkar himself called a 108 ambulance. However, by the time ambulance reached he fell unconscious and was declared brought dead at PHC. His body has been sent for autopsy.
