CANACONA: A man died after a crash involving a car and a motorcycle on the National Highway (NH) 66 at Polem on Friday morning.
Police investigating the incident said that the accident occurred just before Friday noon. Police said that a case is registered against one Anil Kumar, for driving his car in a rash and negligent manner endangering human life.
At the time of the accident, the car strayed in the wrong lane and dashed against a two-wheeler injuring the rider one Sebastian Fernandes, 72, a resident of Sadashivgad in Karwar taluka.
PSI Damodar Shirodkar, who is investigating the case, said that the victim was coming towards Canacona and the car was proceeding in the opposite direction.
Later, the two wheeler rider was rushed to Canacona Health Centre in critical state, but succumbed to his injuries. The body of the victim was later sent to GMC for preservation and post mortem.
