MARGAO: As the Cardoso family refused to remove the blockade they had erected on the road leading to Doneamoll in Chandor, Maina Curtorim Police have referred the matter to the Collector under Section 133 of the CrPC.
Police Sub-Inspector Veronica Fernandes disclosed that when she visited the site, Alex Cardoso along with Jose Mario Cardoso admitted that they had erected the blockade and refused to remove it and hence she has referred the matter to the Collector for action.
It may be recalled that on Saturday angered over the fact that the landlord sold a property to someone else instead of them, the Cardoso family members from Doneamoll in Chandor erected a fence across the narrow village road going to Doneamoll in Chandor Cavorim village.
The Cardoso family members fitted three concrete poles used for barbed wire fencing across the road.
As the access to their houses were blocked, aggrieved people met the Chandor Cavorim Sarpanch Edward D’Silva who sought some time to convince the Cardoso family to remove the blockade but the family refused to listen to the sarpanch.
Left with no option the Sarpanch on Monday asked the aggrieved people to submit a written complaint and that complaint was forwarded to the Maina Curtorim police for action.
