SANGUEM: The road to Selaulim Dam via Dando which also leads to the Sanguem Industrial Estate and Xelpem ward of Uguem Panchayat is in bad condition and needs urgent repairs.
The road at some places has completely got washed away and the motorists particularly riders find it impossible to traverse the route during night time.
Motorists used the route to commute to the Selaulim Dam while trailers ply along the road to proceed to the industrial estate.
Locals claim that the condition of the road has worsened in the last two years due to heavy movement of vehicles carrying raw material and finished products from the industrial estate.
The potholed narrow road with no streetlights at several places makes riding difficult.
The villagers claimed that the situation is turning worse with each monsoon as the authorities are found to be only undertaking repair works of the damaged portion of the road rather than undertaking the black topping of the stretch from Orcotto to Selaulim Dam.
