MARGAO: All the roads in Fatorda constituency will be asphalted within the next six weeks announced Fatorda MLA and Town and Country Planning Minister Vijai Sardessai while urging people to take their water and sewerage connections before the roads are asphalted as no road cutting will be permitted after the works are completed.
“We have already got the work sanctioned for around Rs. 12 crores and all the roads in my constituency will be hot mixed within the next six weeks,” he said while commissioning the works in Ward No. 2 that are tendered for Rs. 1.42 crore.
The work in ward No. 2 includes hot mixing around 2 kms of road length besides widening the road wherever possible and construction of drains with slabs and is supposed to be completed within 120 days or by 18th April 2019.
Vijai appealed to the people to co-operate with the administration that is trying to give them some amenities and urged all to take their sewerage connections and do all other works before the asphalting of the road begins.
“I shall not allow any road cutting once the asphalting is done as the government money cannot be wasted on it,” he said pointing out that the Margao Municipal Council has also decided to move for disconnecting power and water supply to anybody raising objections or obstructing someone from getting sewerage connection.
