MARGAO: Drishti lifeguards on Wednesday thwarted a robbery attempt at Ashwem beach.
A family had entered the sea and while their belongings were on the beach. Suddenly, they spotted a person rummaging through their bags and run away with some things. The family raised an alarm and shouted for help.
Drishti lifeguard Tushar Kharade and Drishti’s Beach Safety Patrol (BSP) officer Vijay Parab chased the thief and brought him back to the tower and handed over him to the police.
Upon search, the police found the missing cash in his possession. A 25-year-old Delhiite was rescued at Cola beach. The victim, who seemed to be in distress in the waters, was secured and brought ashore by the lifeguard.
