MARGAO: Rocha Park in Murida, Fatorda was inaugurated in presence of Bertha Rocha, candidate of Ward 5 Shweta Lotliker, MMC’s former chairperson Pooja Naik, Goa Forward Party (GFP) general secretary Mohandas Lolienkar, Prashant Naik, Humbert Fernandes and GFP’s other aspiring candidates.
Speaking during the inauguration, GFP president and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai said, “The audit of all the works that have been done is required when people go to vote. The only smart road in entire Goa is in Fatorda. This road hasn’t even happened in smart City. I didn’t use big names like Smart City Mission”.
Taking a dig at the campaign by other competitors, Vijai said, “Damu Naik should tell Fatorda people whether they want ganja cultivation and coal to be the future. “Swayampurna Goa” or self reliance idea of BJP is of marijuana cultivation. This is coal and ganja party”.
Sardesai said, “Shweta Lotlikar will work wholeheartedly for the all round development of Ward No 5. We will leave no stone unturned to complete pending works. Lotlikar will be available 24×7 to the residents of Ward No 5.”
On the Rocha Park, Bertha Rocha said the land that they had given as open space was in bad shape for several years.
“When I saw Sujay Lotliker cleaning the land I was happy. When I was told that a park will be made here I along with the entire neighbourhood was delighted”, Bertha said and wished all the candidates of Fatorda Forward the best including Shweta.
Prominent resident Humbert Fernandes said Vijai had earlier supported the BJP for the development of Fatorda and made people understood that Vijai had not joined the saffron party.
“He knew that he will be removed because he had taken Fatorda way forward. No harm if he is not in ruling, Vijai will spend from his pocket and ensure development of Fatorda is not hampered,” Humbert added.
Referring to Vijai, Humbert said, “He wants your support. Let’s support him. Don’t have a wrong notion of Vijai for having supported the BJP as he wanted to get his promises fulfilled. Fatorda will be finished if we lose this man”.
