MARGAO: The Rosary Higher Secondary School, Navelim has now postponed the Class XII offline first internal test scheduled to start from Monday.
The offline first internal test has been postponed and new date will be intimated to students later. Till then Class XII classes will continue as usual, said Rosary HSS Principal Victoria S De Souza.
Earlier, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) vice president Adv Pratima Coutinho along with student leaders of Rosary Higher Secondary School met Chief Minister Pramod Sawant at Sanquelim on Sunday and submitted a representation requesting him to direct the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education to either hold online examinations or postpone the offline exams till all the students are vaccinated.
According to Adv Coutinho, the Chief Minister assured them that he will give justice to the students of Rosary Higher Secondary School.
Adv Coutinho further said that the Chief Minister told them that the government intends to start classes for colleges and post-graduation level from September 1 after making available COVID-19 vaccines in the colleges. The Chief Minister also told them that the students, who could not be vaccinated because they were COVID-19 positive, will have to produce RT-PCR report.
Adv Coutinho was accompanied by students Aloisha D’Sa, Savila Coelho and Aniket Desai.
On Saturday, following protests by the students and parents, the South Goa Collectorate, Margao had directed the Rosary Higher Secondary School to strictly comply with the State-level curfew in force, in respect of exams.
Meanwhile, St Andrew’s Higher Secondary School, Vasco and the Carmel Higher Secondary School, Nuvem, who were also issued similar directions by the South Goa Collectorate, too postponed their offline exams.
