Disqualified Sarpanch of Nagoa, Arpora, Roshan Redkar was sent to seven days of police custody by the Mapusa JMFC court on Thursday. Redkar had surrendered before the court earlier in the day after his anticipatory bail was cancelled on Wednesday. The development came in connection with the Birch fire incident case, which was under investigation. Following the court order, Redkar was taken into police custody for further questioning. As part of the legal procedure, he was also taken for a medical examination by the police. Officials said the custody period would allow investigators to probe the case in detail and verify facts linked to the incident. Further action will depend on the outcome of the ongoing investigation and court proceedings.
