PANJIM: The Cabinet Wednesday cleared the name of Kurupati D Row, for appointment as the chairman of the Goa Public Service Commission.
While announcing this, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar stated that as of now GPSC was a two-man commission and within 15 days a third member would be included.
“He (Row) is a retired executive director (sales and marketing, India) from Air India and was with TTAG for eight years,” Parrikar said, adding that he was looking for a good person as the third member of the commission, and preferably a woman. Parrikar said that Mohan S who was acting like the officiating chairman of GPSC would now remain only as a member.
In another decision, the chief minister said that according to the recommendation of the Goa State Commission for Backward Classes, that there was a need to carry out correction or explanation or rectification of entry no 3 of Koli or Kharvi (including Christian Kharvi) and include all synonymous communities of Koli/Kharvi among others such as Macchimar, Nustekar, Tisrekar, Byannis and including Christian Pexeira, Journaleiro or Trabalhadors, the cabinet had approved the recommendation of the commission.
The Cabinet had approved the payment of arrears of salaries of ZPs and panchas as of April 1, instead of October as mentioned in the order.
