PONDA: A defunct machine at the garbage disposal site, non functioning streetlights, an illegal bar and wet garbage issues were some of the issues that were discussed at the Kavlem gram sabha.
The members alleged that panchayat had wasted around Rs 40 lakh on garbage disposal machinery at the newly opened MRF plant which had turned defunct and demanded the company take the machinery back and refund the money
Locals also express concern over potholes at Kavlem which were a nuisance to bikers. Members demanded that the street lights which were in darkness be immediately repaired as they posed a risk to motorists.
The villagers also demanded action against an illegal bar causing nuisance.
