VASCO: The old tussle between two committees affiliated to Sri Sai Baba temple Vasco took an ugly turn over the opening of donation box by the members of old committee on Tuesday. The New committee has threatened to file a police complaint against the old committee for opening of donation box without giving any notice to the old committee members.
According to the information the incident reported on Tuesday when few members of old committee who claims of having full right on the temple affairs opened up donation box placed inside the Sand started counting the donation amount. At same time some members of new committee orally complaint to Vasco police that some unknown persons have opened up the donation box and they are counting donation amount. Police rushed to the site and took the old committee members to the police station and later when the old committee members produced relevant documents, police allowed the old committee to go back.
Speaking to reporters after the incident, the members of new committee alleged that the act of opening donation box by the old committee was illegal as all the old committee has already handed over charge of temple affairs to the new committee. They said that they would also lodge a police complaint as the act amounts to theft.
Meanwhile the member’s old committee claimed that they still have full rights over the temple affairs and hence their act of opening donation box was fully legal and the new committee is trying to create unnecessary confusion.
