MARGAO: Margao Town Police on Tuesday registered a case of theft against unknown persons as the office of United India Insurance Company Limited situated in Salgaokar Chambers behind Margao Municipal Council building was broken into last night.
The staff had closed the office at 6 pm on Onday and when they returned on Tuesday morning at 9.30 they found that someone had broken into the office by removing the screws of the latch. Cash amounting to Rs 1,37,542 was found stolen.
PSI Pratik Bhatprabhu said a case has been registered under sections 457 and 380 of IPC.
