VASCO: In a major relief to the Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) the Directorate of Urban Development has given administrative approval of Rs 2.80 crore towards grants-in-aid on Wednesday.
The grants would be utilised for 77 developmental works that were proposed by the Mormugao Municipal Council. The MMC councillors were waiting anxiously for the fund which was pending for quite a long time due to which projects that was proposed by the council were held up and the councillors were facing the ire of the citizens. The relief is also important because the council will face elections in the month of November.
