Speaking to Herald, sources from the Customs at the airport said the Intelligence Wing of the Customs had received information that the gold was being smuggled in an Air India 994 Dubai-Goa-Bangalore flight.
Acting on the tip-off, the intelligence wing officials searched the flight at Dabolim airport and recovered the gold hidden in the flight toilet. Sources further informed that the culprit involved in smuggling the gold is not known and they are investigating the case and trying to locate the passenger who transported the gold.
