BICHOLIM: Bicholim Police continues to be baffled over the theft of gold worth a staggering Rs 1 crore from a jeweller’s house at Karapur-Bicholim.
According to highly placed sources, burglars broke into the house of the jeweller about 10 days ago and stole the gold.
After a complaint was lodged, the police rounded up about 10 non-Goans working on a construction site near the goldsmith’s house. The police kept the burglary under wraps and did not reveal the details to the media.
Ten days have passed and the police are still clueless regarding the burglary, even though the 10 non-Goan suspects have already been released on bail. Bicholim police is investigating the case.
The police are at a dead end and do not know which side to direct the investigation as they are yet to obtain any clues in the theft.
