PONDA: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) workers took part in the customary rally at Ponda to mark its foundation day and Vijayadashmi celebration, on Sunday.
At least 350 swayamsevaks attended the rally in trousers instead of half pants. This is the first rally after Subash Velingkar was sacked as Goa unit of RSS.
Some BJP workers led by Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar also attended the rally.
Goa RSS chief Laxman Behre Deshpande appealed to the swayamsevaks to  unite the Hindus in the country.
He said that Hindus are good in all field but they are not united. The unity is needed to solve the social problems among Hindus. He said RSS is now become a grown up tree and its progress or fall depends upon the disciplined swayamsevaks.
He appealed to swayamsevaks nod to discriminate Hindus on the basis of caste.
The rally was flagged off at Ponda bus stand and moved through upper Bazzar, Shantinagar and culminated at Almeida High School.
A programme was held at GVM’s hall after the rally.
