PANJIM: As Central government has lifted restrictions on inbound tourism, the Goa government has capped the RT-PCR testing rate for foreign tourists at Rs 3,200, which will be a mandatory test on arrival at Goa airport or sea port.
In an order issued by the under-secretary (health), Gautami S Parmekar cited the Union Ministry of Home Affair’s decision to permit foreign tourists to arrive in India starting October 15 for charter flights travellers and November 15 for individual nationals.
“Considering this, it is necessary to make compulsory testing of all the international passengers by rapid RTPCR test at the Goa Airport or sea port,” the order stated.
As such, the State government has approved for capping of Rapid RTPCR test price at Rs 3,200 per test, until further review.
