MARGAO: The Road Transport Authority (RTA) Committee of Salcete has decided to allot land for private buses and hotel coaches at the Kadamba bus stand in Margao. Salcete Deputy Collector Ajit Panchwadkar, who is the chairman of the committee, will write to the Kadamba authorities and request them to charge nominal parking fees for the bus owners. The bus owners’ association has welcomed the move.
“The meeting was called to discuss solutions to the haphazard parking of tourist buses and hotel coaches primarily on the Ravindra Bhavan road and the ring road. There were several complaints of illegal activities going on at these roads, and hence, we have decided to speak to Kadamba and get land specially for these buses to curb the problem,” said Panchwadkar.
