MARGAO: In an unusual act of protest against the Rumdamol panchayat’s failure to collect garbage regularly, a panch member took drastic measures by dumping a pile of waste material inside the Sarpanch’s office. The incident occurred when panch member Vinayak Volvoikar dumped the heap of garbage inside the chamber of Sarpanch Mubeena Faniband.
The protest highlights ongoing issues with waste management in the area, drawing attention to the panchayat’s inability to maintain consistent garbage collection and disposal services. This unconventional method in a way reflects the frustration felt by some local officials and residents regarding the sanitation problem.
Incidentally, this issue has been discussed in the past by the local residents who had complained to the panchayat to take proper action.
There have also been growing differences between the Sarpanch and Volvoikar.
