MARGAO: An inspection was carried out on Wednesday by the Rumdamol-Davorlim panchayat to assess an alleged illegal construction in the village in the Housing Board area.
It may be recalled that the issue of this construction had come up during the gram sabha, following which the panchayat had decided to carry out the inspection.
Locals had complained of alleged encroachment, pointing out that the structure was almost ready without the necessary permissions and that arrangements have already been made to lease out the place on rent.
Locals had also complained about how the parking space had been blocked.
The Rumdamol-Davorlim Sarpanch and Panchayat secretary said that they would be taking action as per the law and urged the Goa Housing Board to also cooperate and take action as well since the structure is located within the land owned by the Goa Housing Board.
