Rupal Gosavi returns home safely

VASCO: Rupal Gosavi, a student from Bicholim stranded in battle-torn Ukraine returned home safely on Tuesday late evening. 

Expressing happiness for returning home safely from Ukraine, Rupal said, “At last I returned home. There was no panic situation at the place where we were studying and staying. Till now it is the safest place in Ukraine. But for safety reasons we all have decided to return home. I crossed the border within a day,” she said.

Earlier, on her arrival at the IGI Airport, New Delhi, Goa Sadan, Deputy Resident Commissioner Vikas Kamble welcomed Rupal Gosavi with a bouquet. He also enquired about her well being and about other Goan students stranded in Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Director of NRI Affairs Anthony D’Souza, who is also the nodal officer, said that four more Goan students including three girls have reached from Ukraine to Romania and are awaiting to board the plane to return to India. In addition, another four Goan girl students have reached the rescue camps at Hungary and they too will be flown back to India safety, he informed.
