Rural electorate will elect BJP: DyCM

CUNCOLIM: Deputy Chief Minister Chandrakant Kavlekar on Saturday expressed confidence that the rural voters will elect the BJP candidates to power in both North and South Goa Zilla Parishad elections.

“We will win the maximum seats, the electorate are with the government and they are aware about BJP government’s work especially during the COVID-19 pandemic,” the Deputy Chief Minister said.

He said, “The State government has done excellent job in handling COVID situation. The government succeeded in reaching out every household to extend help. The Opposition has no issues to fight the elections hence they come out with petty issues which will certainly not make any impact on the voters.”

Kavlekar also informed that in his lifetime first time he is voting for the BJP after he left Congress and join BJP. Along with me all other nine MLAs, who quite Congress and join BJP and our supporters, are with the BJP, hence there are no two ways that why the BJP will not grab both North and South Zilla Parishad elections.

He further said that he is confident to retain Khola, Fatorpa and Guirdolim Zilla Parishad seats. We will have a clean sweep in Khola, Fatorpa and Guirdolim Kavlekar.

“It may not be a referendum against we joining the BJP nor we accept the elections as semi-final of Assembly elections but we are confident of winning majority seats under leadership of Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant,” Kavlekar added.
