Rush at Vasco market

VASCO:  The announcement of the upcoming Goa lockdown and beginning of Janta curfew led to a surge of customers at the Vasco market. Most of the locals who had rushed to the market said they were trying to purchase essential items to sustain themselves till Sunday. However, vegetable vendors asked the customers to follow social distancing norms and assured them that they have adequate supply and requested them not to panic and to wear their masks.

Some of the locals also felt that the lockdown should have been implemented earlier and that a rush at the markets due to the sudden announcement is counterproductive as it can lead to the spread of the infection.
