MAPUSA: Anjuna Police on Saturday arrested a 47-year-old Russian national Denis Kriuchkoy for allegedly murdering his 34-year-old female friend Ekaterina Titova at Bandirwado-Oxel, Siolim earlier this month.
According to Anjuna Police, the postmortem report has revealed that Ekaterina was done to death as her nose and mouth were compressed. Acting on the report, a murder case was registered under Section 302 of the IPC.
It may be recalled that on August 19, Anjuna Police had found the Ekaterina’s body in the rented apartment at Bandirwado-Oxel, Siolim.
The said apartment was given on rent to Denis by a local. The accused was absconding since the murder. Meanwhile the reason behind the murder is yet to be ascertained as the police suspect a fight between the two.
The team comprised Mapusa SDPO Gajanan Prabhu Dessai, Anjuna PI Suraj Gawas, Mapusa PI Tushar Lotlikar, Ribandar Crime Branch PI Rahul Parab, PSIs Akshay Parsekar, Sujay Korgaonkar and Amir Taral, LPSI Sneha Sawal, head constable Shyamsundar Parsekar, constables Rajesh Gokgarnkar, Suraj Fondvekar, Rupesh Azgaonkar, Sarvesh Salgaonkar, Godhish Goltekar, Shamba Shetgaonkar, Arun Mahale, Shubham Mayekar, Ajay Gaonkar, Shubham Naik, Sakharam Salgaonkar and Arjun Sawant.
